Will Fisher is an up-and-coming drummer I met when he toured accross Canada with Coco Love Alcorn. His debut album “Portage” is an instrumental jazz project.

The design play’s off Will’s love of the outdoors, and was a good fit with the album title.

The illustrations were done in india ink then coloured digitally. The back cover is based on maps usually found at provincial parks, with each song corresponding to a trail on the map.

Since there were no lyrics for the lyric booklet, I proposed the idea of a paper canoe — dressed in “Portage” edition graphics. It was so much fun to create, I made two more, each inspired by the title of a track. PDFs are available for download on Will’s site. Folding instructions are there too.
